Ellerman House in Cape Town is great all year round. However, it's really best in summer if you want to explore the nearby beaches. The popular summer season in Cape Town is from December to April, when the weather is warm and with little to no rain. If you want to skip the wind (it picks up in summer) and crowds, aim to visit in February and May when both calm down a bit. From June to October, it's winter, and you can expect lots of rain. The famous whale season is between August and October.

It's within walking distance or a short drive from many of the city's best beaches, and if you want to spend your day in the vineyards, the Cape Winelands is a 45-minute drive away.
